Reem Salman is a life-driven artist whose work is shaped by her personal experiences and observations. Authenticity lies at the heart of her creative practice, expressed through abstract lines, visual storytelling, and honest reflections on life, identity, memory, and human connection. She has previously illustrated four books, including a short story collection, poetry books, and a musical tutorial book. In addition to her independent artistic work, she creates commissioned designs and illustrations for a variety of clients. Originally from Kuwait, Reem holds a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics with TESOL from the University of Sheffield and works as an English language educator. Alongside her artistic practice, she is an aspiring researcher in Critical Discourse Analysis, with a particular interest in language, identity, mental health discourse, and the ways linguistic choices shape our understanding of people and society. Deeply fascinated by words and expression, she combines her academic background with her passion for art to create work that is meaningful, thought-provoking, and deeply human. The Lost Sense of Self brings together three years of sketchbooks, reflections, and visual explorations created during a period of searching, questioning, and rediscovering the self.
